BANGALORE INTERNATIONAL GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS

Shining Stars (Preprimary)

Introduction

'Shining Stars’ has a well-researched and scientifically developed pre-primary curriculum that focuses on holistic development of each child through play activities and collaborative group work. The pre-primary curriculum aims at providing tiny tots with a solid academic foundation by implementing a multi-sensory integrated approach to education. Shining Stars has been at the forefront of bringing innovative Montessori materials in the early stages of child care. The main aim here is to improve the cognitive skills of children that are developed with constant stimulation offered by the play activities and skills that are introduced by interacting with other children in group based activities. The next step for children is to learn the importance of writing and this is introduced to them through drawing and making them learn the precursors of language such as the letters of the alphabet. In addition to learning how to write, the Shining Stars curriculum also assists children in phonological recognition, implying the recognition of sounds associated with words that depict animals and everyday objects. A third important aspect that is the focus of the Shining Stars curriculum is the fact that children are introduced to verbal skills such as singing and reciting ‘pre-formulated’ exercises. It is a constant stress on positive learning attitude, constructing the foundation for language and other subjects - in terms of comprehension, retention and reproduction and in addition to the expert facilitators who ensure a holistic learning environment for children who are a part of Shining Stars excel in both curricular as well as co-curricular activities at higher levels of their education at BIGI.

Principal's Message

Mr. Craig Anthony Lucas
Principal
Bangalore International Academy, Whitefield.

Bangalore International Academy officially opened its doors to its first batch of students on 25th June, 2018. As the founder Principal of this school it gives me great pride to be a part of Bangalore International Group of Institutions better known as BIGI.

The Management of BIGI aims at providing quality services at the highest standard possible which makes it a dream for any leader to head one of its institutions. Having been bestowed the honour to be a part of BIGI, I take up this opportunity with full gusto determined to lead my institution to the next level.

Bangalore International Academy, Whitefield is in its nascent stage but our dreams are big and goals are high as we aim to become a landmark in Whitefield as far as choice of education is concerned. There is a Chinese proverb which says, ' if you want to plan for a year, sow rice, if you want to plan for a decade, plant trees but if you want to plan for a lifetime, educate people.'

Bangalore International Academy, Whitefield plans to do just that which is to educate people. The young minds of children are impressionable so what we feed into it can have an indelible impact which is why we have set high standards so that nothing but the best can be served to these keen young learners. We are and will remain a school with a difference because for us every individual learner matters as we strive for individual excellence within collective success.

The flag of Bangalore International Academy, Whitefield, has begun to flutter and soon it will fly high in the skyline of Whitefield. My best wishes to my staff and students. Let's together make it happen.

C.A.Lucas

Principal

FACilitators

Teachers are the facilitators in BIH & Shining Stars who impart sound and value based education to the students. Faculty forms the edifice on which the foundation of the institution rests.

They are the guiding stars who are selected after undergoing a stringent selection process wherein besides their qualification their potential to become good teachers is carefully assessed.

To attract the best talent the management offers an attractive remuneration package. However the sense of dedication and commitment of the teachers of BIH & Shining Stars goes far beyond. While other schools bask in the achievements of their bright students, in BIH & Shining Stars we are proud that the teachers painstakingly endeavor to carry each student including the not so bright ones along.

“Great teachers empathize with children, respect them and believe that each one has something special that can be built upon.”
